Lindsey Walter
named Scholar-Athlete of the Week September 21, 2011. Senior midfielder and captain Lindsey Walter
was named the Orange County Register Scholar-Athlete of the week. Lindsey has a 4.55 GPA and is a 3-year varsity
starter for the Oilers. She has committed to play field hockey at Columbia University in New York City. Congratulations

Oilers Storm Florida Again September, 2011.
The Oilers played in the KSA Classic Tournament in Florida to prepare for the upcoming season and also got the chance
to enjoy Disney World. The HB ladies easily won all four of their games against teams from Massachusetts.
The
2011 Oiler varsity team consits of seniors Niccole Anzivino, Danielle Brear, Letty Guerreo, and Lindsey Walter, and
juniors Brittney Cristini, Marina Elmore, Faith Hicks, Allie Knobbe, Abby Masters, Nicole Minnicucci, Payton Planiden, Hannah
Rodriguez, Kirsti Stangeland, Tori Wickham, Kayla Wigney, and Kayla Winsatt.
Cathy Van Doornum named 2010 California Field Hockey Coach of the Year June,
2011. Coach Van Doornum was awarded the California Coaches Association Field Hockey Coach of the Year at their 54th

2011 National Futures Championships July 2011. Lindsey Walter, Kayla Wigney and Marina Elmore were selected to compete in the 2011 National Futures Championships
in Virginia Beach. The NFC is a tournament and college show case of teams comprised of the top 650 U14, U16 and
U19 players in the nation. Lindsey's team finished second in the NFC tournament and Kayla was selected to play
in the AAU Junior Olympics.
2009 H.B. Field Hockey Team Wins in Florida The Huntington Beach High girls'
field hockey team got its season off to a magical start, capturing the 2009 KSA Fall Classic field hockey tournament Sept.
3-5 at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. Huntington Beach went 4-0 in the tournament, beating three
teams from New York and another from Massachusetts. Coach Cathy Van Doornum said it was a team effort, as 10 Oilers scored
in the tournament.
Huntington Beach was also able to enjoy the local theme parks, including Disney World, the Epcot
Center, Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach Water Park. This was the first time Huntington Beach High has attended an out-of-state
tournament.
The Oilers varsity team consists of Brooke Berns, Corinne Clegg, Chelsey Finamore, Meagen Good, Jordan
James, goalie Maelen Lockhart, Julianne Lucas, Jordan Mulholland, Ashlyn Pooler, Claire Prestridge, Maggie Prizler, Taryn
Rescigno, Lindsay Sebastian, Gina Taglieri, Elizabeth Tornheim, Jessica Van Arsdale and Stephanie Walter.
